Tracking Climate Action: Lessons from Charlottetown

Open to local electeds in Atlantic provinces

Discover how Charlottetown is turning climate plans into measurable, transparent action.

This Atlantic Chapter session will highlight how the City of Charlottetown uses its Climate Action Tracker to monitor progress on its climate action plan and keep both council and residents informed through clear, accessible data.

Hear from Kristen Gore, Acting Climate Action Officer for the City of Charlottetown, as she walks through how the tracker works in practice, highlighting key indicators like community and corporate GHG emissions, transit ridership, and tree planting. Kristen will share lessons learned, challenges, and insights on how public-facing tools can strengthen accountability, support better decision-making, and build trust in municipal climate action.

This conversation will offer practical takeaways for Atlantic councils interested in using data, transparency, and performance tracking to advance climate goals – even with limited resources.

This Chapter is facilitated by Councillor Adam Baden-Clay and is open to current and former local elected leaders who are members of Climate Caucus.
