2026-2028 Strategic Plan
As a national, non-partisan non-profit working at the intersection of local democracy and climate policy, we know that local governments are both on the front lines of climate impacts and uniquely positioned to drive meaningful change.
Our 2026–2028 Strategic Plan sets out a clear and focused path forward, reflecting both the urgency of the moment and the opportunity before us to build communities that are resilient, healthy, regenerative, decarbonized, and socially just.
This vision is the result of deep engagement with the people at the heart of our work, shaped through conversations with local elected leaders, partners, and allies across the country—those navigating the realities of climate impacts, affordability pressures, and growing polarization.
Partner with Us to Bring this Plan to Life
The scale and complexity of the challenges ahead require collaboration across jurisdictions, sectors, and communities. They require partnership between all orders of government. We look forward to working alongside you to enact this ambition — and to use climate policies to ensure our communities are safe and prosperous.
